FAQ | Event Date: June 8, 2024
Race photos will be available on the Sunday or Monday after the Race.
1. How can I sign up for the events?
Online registration is NOW CLOSED. There will be limited Race Day Registration for $25 paid by credit card only with NO SHIRT or MEDAL.
2. What are the age limits for the races?
There are no age limits. We encourage participants of all ages to join us.
3. Are the race events walker friendly?
Yes, the 5k is walker friendly for all speeds and the 10k is walker friendly if you can complete the 10K in under 1 hour and 40 minutes
4. Are there refunds if I cannot attend?
There are no refunds but you may exchange your race registration to another person or switch to virtual if you cannot attend.
5. Are baby joggers or strollers or pet dogs allowed during the race?
Baby joggers, strollers and dogs are permitted to participate. We just ask that those with baby joggers/strollers or pet dogs line up towards the back of the race paddock at the start. All dogs need to be on a leash less than 6 ft in length.
6. Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc) allowed during the race?
Yes, please be careful if you choose to run with headphones and be on the lookout for other participants as well as course route signage.
7. When is the last day to register?
The last day to register online is:
Tuesday, June 4 at 6:00 pm EST.There will be limited race day registration which will only include receiving a bib. You will not receive a shirt or medal if you register on race day.
Packet Delivery:
1. How will I receive my race packet?
PACKET PICKUP – Packet Pick up for the riverfront run will take place on June 6th from 12-6pm at Eastern Market Shed 2 at the side located off of Russell St. Eastern Market is located at 2934 Russell Street, Detroit MI 48207. Click here for a parking map. Race Day packet pick up will begin at 7:30 AM and end at 8:30am at the race start and finish line located in Cullen Plaza – 1340 E. Atwater St. Detroit, MI 48207. There is no bag check at the race start line.
Post race packet pick up will be announced after the event.
Virtual Racers will have their packets mailed to them Monday June 10th. If you haven’t received your packet by June 22nd, please send us an email at info@detroitriverfront.org.
Race Information:
1. Where does the race start from? And what time?
The Detroit Riverfront Run will begin and end at Cullen Plaza (1340 E. Atwater Street, Detroit MI 48207. The 10k will begin promptly at 8:40am and the 5k will begin at 9:00am.
There is no bag check at the race start line.
2. What are the course maps?
The 5k and 10k courses are certified and you may view the course maps by clicking here: 5K map and 10K map.
3. Is the race timed? Are there any prizes for age category winners or for overall race winners?
Yes, the race is professionally timed and will be available onsite after you finish the race. They will be posted online as well.
There are prizes for the first and second overall male and female participants in each age category for both the 5k and 10k. There will also be a prize for overall male and female winners for both the 5k and 10k.
4. Timing and Results
To help ensure you will get an accurate finish time please pin race number horizontally on the OUTSIDE of any clothing on the FRONT, as close to the waist as possible. Water carriers or gel packs near the number can also affect the read. Wearing the number visibly on the front will ensure a finish time.
5. Where is Parking?
Free parking for all race day participants will be available at the River East Garage located at corner of Rivard and Franklin Streets across from the race start and finish line. Parking will be available starting at 7am and cars must exit the lot by 12pm. The address to the River East Garage is 1000 Franklin St., Detroit, MI 48207. There is no bag check at the race start line.
